HISTORY OF THE CHURCH

On September 10, 2017, Radiant Church was launched at Bangor Central Elementary with an enthusiastic gathering of approximately 200 people in attendance. The initial spark and spirit of unity laid the foundation for what was to come.

In 2020, Radiant Church embarked on a significant campaign to secure a new building. Recognizing the need for a larger space to accommodate its growing congregation, the church community rallied together and managed to raise an impressive $86,000 in just one week. The support and dedication of its members were evident as they worked towards the vision of a new home for the church.

However, just as plans were in motion, the world was hit by a global pandemic. Despite the challenges and uncertainties that came with the pandemic, Radiant Church's members continued to demonstrate unwavering commitment, and giving increased despite the difficult circumstances.

In June 2020, amidst the pandemic, Radiant Church successfully purchased a building; a milestone that marked a new chapter in the church’s journey. The determination of the congregation to persevere through trying times spoke volumes about faith and unity within the church.

Renovations on the newly acquired building were completed in August 2020, and on August 25th of the same year, the first service was held in the new facility. This marked a triumphant moment for the church, and from that point on, Radiant Church experienced a steady increase in attendance.

Radiant’s growth was evident as the number of attendees surged, averaging over 500 people on Sundays. A thriving Children's Ministry has been nurtured, with an average of 115 kids attending, showcasing the commitment to serving families and future generations.

In May 2023, the "For Future Generations" Building Campaign was launched. The campaign aims to expand the existing facility further, ensuring the ability to meet the needs of the growing congregation and community.

The journey of Radiant Church in Bay City is a testament to the power of prayer, unity, and community support. From humble beginnings in a school to the acquisition of a new building, the church has overcome challenges, thrived through a pandemic, and continues to build for the future with a passionate commitment to serving its members and generations to come.
